Formerly known as Samantha Nicole School of Dance, the school was purchased by Sarah Knox and rebranded as ARC DANCE in 2026.

ARC DANCE is a family focussed recreational dance school located in Grey Lynn Auckland, also with the capacity to work with serious dancers towards careers in the arts industry.

ARC DANCE aims to be a leader in dance education in Aotearoa, focussing on quality training, creating community, and fostering a life-long love of dance.

We offer a range of dance styles, with classes for ages 2 and up across all abilities, backgrounds and genders, including recreational children and teens, elite dancers, beginner teen dancers, adults, and older adults. We are based in a beautiful and energising home in Grey Lynn, with three dance studios and large social space, with a supportive and enthusiastic teaching team.

ARC DANCE utilises the Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) Jazz, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, and Hip Hop syllabi, Acrobatic Arts (AA) AcroDance syllabus, Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet syllabus, and in-house Lyrical dance. Our classes are designed to develop dance techniques, creativity, musicality and performance. Students can progress through the grades and have the opportunity to sit exams in August each year. We love seeing our dancers grow their confidence, resilience and interpersonal skills within their classes.

Outside of weekly classes, we hold holiday workshops, extension programmes, performance teams, amongst other activities, all with the intention of creating community, connection and friendship for our dancers.

We celebrate our year of learning with an annual Dance Concert in term 4, which all students are invited to perform in (including our youngest preschool dancers and adults).

Our classes are taught with the aim of growing our students as dancers, and as individuals. We aim to create encouraging and friendly learning environments, where respectful and kind relationships are created fostered, and no forms of bullying or discrimination are tolerated.
